Daudehaus Nursery was started in 1994 when I retired. At first it was
just a hobby. People told me that my plants were more successful and
grow better than plants they had bought and that I should start selling
them. Then it got out of control. Now we have a retail as well as a
wholesale nursery.

The
Nursery is located on 8 acres that was originally part of my husband
Walter's family farm. His grandfather bought the farm in the 1880's and
moved here in 1888. We live in the old farm house. It was 3 miles to
town when Walter was a kid. Now we are in the middle of town surrounded
by 32 houses.
My grandmother taught me to love flowers and plants. Walter and I joined
the Master Gardeners where we learned about the growing of healthy
plants. There are several hundred native plants growing on the place. We
are still working on identifying them. We enjoy trying to propagate
unusual and native plants adapted to the area.
Visitors are welcome. Tours are available for groups upon request.
